Past three years, we’ve never bought ice creams from store. During Summer, I always make ice cream at home for sanvi and shreeya and they also love it. I saw recipes called soft serve ice creams which are softer than regular ice creams. I thought I should try it.
Banana soft serve is damn easy to make and hardly takes two minutes. All you need is to freeze the cut bananas and blend it. Doesn’t it sound interesting and easy? Try it out and you’ll know. Ok, now let’s move on to the banana soft serve recipe.

Bananas (quartered and frozen) – 2 nos.

Peel and quarter bananas and freeze until solid or say for 2 hours. Then pulse the frozen banana pieces. First, it would look crumbled and smashed. Pulse again and then it would turn mushy and smoother. Still, it would have chunks of banana in it.
You can add the mix-in ingredients just before blending.
Spices: You can add ground cinnamon, nutmeg, or all spice.
Extracts: You can add vanilla, almond or peppermint.
Nut butters: You can add almond, peanut, nutella or hazelnut.
Chocolate: You can add chips, cocoa powder, cacao powder, cacao nibs, chocolate sauce, chocolate syrup
- Bananas should be sweet and soft.
- You can freeze banana for 2 hours or preferably overnight.
- A small food processor or chopper works best.
- You can eat the ice cream immediately but it will be soft. If you want to eat it like a traditional ice cream, transfer it to an airtight container and freeze it until solid.
