Brinjal fry. A simple and delicious fry made with brinjal, spices and besan flour. It tastes so great and goes well with curd rice, sambar and rasam.
Brinjal fry is so easy to make and tastes so good. Even after you finish eating it, the taste would still linger in your mouth. You would just love it.

Makes. 2 persons
Green chillies/pacha molaga – 3 to 4 nos.
Fennel seeds/sombu – 1 tsp
Curry leaves/karuvepillai – 1 sprig
Note. The ingredients shown will vary with the original quantity.
1. Cut brinjal into medium pieces. In a mixing bowl, put besan flour, coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, curry leaves and salt. Mix well. Add brinjal pieces, sprinkle water and mix well again.
2. In a pan, heat oil. Add fennel seeds, red chilli, and curry leaves.
3. Add onion, and green chillies. When onion turns light brown, add the brinjal pieces. Sim the flame and fry well.
4. At one stage, brinjal will turn crispy. At this stage, add coriander leaves and switch off the flame.Now, brinjal pirattal/brinjal pirattal/kathirikai pirattal is ready! Serve with curd rice, sambar and rasam.
