Gj is a lover of salads. Past few years, he was always asking me to make salads at home for dinner. I am not a salad person at all. I would only make salad once a week. I always feel that salad does not fill up my stomach at all. My friend vanessa makes healthy and tasty salad.
Finally, she convinced me that salads are very healthy and easy to make. Also, she taught me how to add certain ingredients and make a heavy salad. I really got inspired by her, and now I have started making salads twice a day. Hereafter, you will see many salad recipes in my blog. I made this salad three days ago and Gj loved it. Chickpeas and potato make a great combination and fill your your stomach. Kids will also like it.
Chickpeas/kondakadalai – 1 cup
Potato (boiled,cubed) – 2 nos.
Lemon – 1/2 no.
Chaat masala – 1 teaspoon
Cumin powder/jeeraga powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Pepper powder/milagu thool – 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander leaves – little
Salt – to taste
Note. The ingredients shown will vary with the original quantity.
1. Wash and soak the chickpeas overnight or at least for eight hours in three cups of water. After eight hours, the chickpeas should have doubled in size. 2. Now, pressure cook chick peas using three cups of water and little salt for 5-6 whistles or until soft.3. Drain the chickpeas and reserve the stock (You can use the stock for dal or gravy). In a mixing bowl, add boiled chickpeas, cubed potato, chaat masala, cumin powder, pepper powder, and salt.4. Add coriander leaves and lemon juice. Give a good toss.Now, chickpea potato salad is ready!
