Cinnamon french bread toast recipe, easy french toast. A delicious and an easy toast that is crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside.
My love for bread toast is well documented in my bombay toast recipe post. This cinnamon french bread toast preparation is quite similar to bombay toast, but the ingredients vary. This recipe uses cinnamon, but adding cinnamon is optional.
Get french bread toast right. You can make this french bread toast for parties, special occasions and even for day-to-day breakfast. French bread toast should be golden brown, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. When I say creamy on the inside, it means it should neither be dry nor soggy. You can either toast the bread and eat it as such or you can toss the toasted bread in sugar and sweeten it. Both ways, it tastes yum! Like I mentioned earlier, adding cinnamon is optional. You can garnish the french toast with maple or fruit syrup with a dash of butter. If you are worried about calories, then you can skip the butter and serve it with fresh fruits.
How to select and cut the bread. The delicious french bread toast comes out well with bread that has minute holes. Avoid bread that has large holes in them, as they cannot hold the egg mixture well. The toast will also turn out too soft. I used whole wheat bread for this post. If you are buying a whole bread, then cut the bread into thick slices at least one-inch-thick slice.

1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs well. 2. Now add ground cinnamon and creamer or milk. Whisk well. You can still see the cinnamon floating on top. When you toast the bread, cinnamon will stick to the bread.3. Cut the bread into three slices. This is an optional step. Meantime in another pan, melt the butter in medium-high heat. Then dip the bread slices in the egg mixture for few seconds.4. Now, using a ladle, transfer the bread to the pan and toast the bread on both sides until golden brown. Switch off. Now, cinnamon french bread toast is ready! You can top it with fresh chopped fruits or drizzle maple syrup and serve.
If you want to coat the bread slices with sugar, then follow steps 5 and 6 when the toasted bread is still warm.
