Ganesh Chaturthi Recipes,Vinayagar Chaturthi Recipes. A complete list of traditional Indian recipes for Vinayaka Chavithi festival.
Ganesh chaturthi or Vinayaga Chaturthi is an important festival celebrated all over India in honor of Lord Ganesha. Usually we buy pillaiyar made out of kaliman/clay and decorate him with garland, bermuda grass/arukampul and mini umbrella. We then worship the idol, do pooja and offer him nivedeyam. On the third day, we immerse him in the sea or offer him to temple.
After I moved to USA, I make Ganesh idol using play doh and rest I follow the same procedure. On the third day, I offer my Ganesha idol to the temple. I make traditional recipes like modak, kozhukattai, sundal and payasam.
Many of you may be wondering what to make for Ganesh Chaturthi. To make it easier for you, I have compiled a collection of traditional recipes that you could make for the Ganesh Chaturthi pooja.
