Mango Mastani Recipe. A delicious and tasty thick mango milkshake served with ice cream and dry fruits as toppings.
Mango Mastani, a popular drink of Pune, is rich, creamy and a perfect dessert for summer. Mango Mastani is a thick milkshake made with chopped mangoes, dry fruits, cherries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Usually, vanilla ice cream or mango ice cream is used in Mango Mastani recipe. My kids prefer chocolate ice cream compared to vanilla ice cream, so I used chocolate ice cream to make this Mango Mastani. I personally prefer vanilla ice cream. Unless, you are a hard core lover of chocolate ice cream, avoid using chocolate ice cream.

Mangoes (ripe) – 2 large
Mango pieces (chopped) – 2 teaspoon
Milk – 1 cup
Sugar – 3 tablespoon
Vanilla or mango ice cream – 1 scoop
Cashew nuts (chopped) – 3 nos.
Almonds (chopped) – 4 nos.
Pistachios (chopped) – 5 nos.
Cherries – 2 to 3 nos. (optional)
Ice cubes – 3 to 4 nos. (optional)
Note. The ingredients shown will vary with the original quantity.
1. Peel the skin of mango and chop them roughly into pieces. Discard the seed. Now, in a mixer, add mango pieces, milk, and sugar. Blend until smooth. If the sugar is less, add more sugar and blend again. Your mango milkshake is ready.2. Slice the nuts roughly into small pieces. In the serving glass, pour mango milkshake until 3/4th rim of the glass. 3. Now top it with a scoop of vanilla or mango ice cream. Then garnish with sliced nuts, cherries and chopped mango pieces.
Now, Mango Mastani is ready. Serve chill with straw or spoon.
- Choose alphonso, kesar or neelam varieties of mangoes.
- If mangoes are sweet, then you don’t have to ass sugar.
- I used chocolate ice cream as my kids love it. You can use vanilla ice cream or mango ice cream.
