Playdoh sensory activity, fine motor development, sensory play activities
Playdoh sensory activity. A simple, easy and fun idea that gives a multi-sensory boost for your child.
Kids love playdoh and this activity will allow them you to learn as well as play. Playdoh are gentle and you can play with them in a number of ways. I will be posting many playdoh activities in the coming weeks.
This Playdoh sensory activity teaches kids to:
- learn as well as play
- sensory stimulation
- touch and feel
- strengthen fingers
- improve writing skills
- hand-eye coordination
Things you need:
beads (small and big)
any small or tiny objects like beads, crystals etc.
Let the kids knead the playdoh well. They could form any shape they like. They could also use playdoh moulds to make shapes. Then kids could start mixing the tiny objects like beads and crystals inside the playdoh.
Once they have mixed all the tiny objects, you can play hide and seek game. Can you guess how?
For example, let the kids know that the target is they need to find yellow gem. Knead the playdoh well such that it is tough for them to find the yellow gem among several other tiny objects. Then handover the playdoh to them and ask them to find it out. Kids would knead the dough and it takes little strong muscles to pull out the yellow gem from the playdoh.
This activity will certainly make their hands and fingers strong. This will also help in hand-eye coordination and will improve their attention.
Kids will eventually dig through the playdoh and pull out the tiny objects. This activity will keep your busy kids busy at least for 1 hour.
Please try it out and let me know if your kids loved this activity. Meantime, I will post more playdoh activities that you can play with your kids.
