Sprouted moong chaat – A healthy and nutritious chaat made with moong dal and sprouts.
Gj loves salad kind of recipes. If I make chaat recipes, he would request me if I could make some healthy chaat recipes. Only then it popped into my mind, “why not try something healthy like sprouts”. I made this yesterday for evening and Gj loved it. Only if Gj likes my recipes, only then I will post it in my blog. It is a very healthy recipe and has lots of proteins and vitamin C. I made sprouted moong chaat last weekend and Gj loved it. You should all try sprouted moong chaat. Enjoy!

Serves. 2 plates
Sprouted moong dal – 1 cup
Onion (chopped) – 1
Tomato (chopped) – 1
Lemon juice – 1 tsp
Cumin powder/jeeraga powder – 1/4 tsp
Chaat masala powder – 2 tsp
Coriander leaves – 3 tbsp
Salt – as desired
Note. The ingredients shown will vary with the original quantity.
1. Pressure cook green gram for one whistle or just cook the green gram in a pan by adding 3 cups of water. Let it cool down. In a serving plate, add some cooked green gram.2. I have also added mature moong sprouts, but that is optional. Now add the finely chopped onions and chopped tomatoes. Then add cumin powder and chaat masala powder.3. Sprinkle lemon juice and then again add moong sprouts followed by mature moong sprouts. Garnish with coriander leaves.Now, sprouted moong chaat is ready! Serve immediately.
- Serve the chaat immediately if not it would leave water.
- You can also add chopped mango pieces and even cucumber pieces.
- You can also add puffed rice to the chaat.
