Sprouts sandwich. A nutritious sandwich made with sprouts and mashed potatoes is a perfect breakfast or snack dish that is not only healthy but delicious and filling too.
Sprouts sandwich is simple, easy and healthy.
I tried this dish using both sprouted soybeans and sprouted moong dal. Both came out very well. I learned this recipe from here and liked it so much.

Makes. 3 persons
Soyabeans/moong dal sprouts – 1 cup
Potato (boiled & mashed) – 1.5 cups
Carrot (grated) – 1/2
Bread slices – 6
Onion (chopped) – 1 no.
Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves (chopped)- little
Lemon juice – 1/2 tsp
Oil – 2 teaspoons
Salt – as required
1. In a pan, heat oil. Add onions and saute until it turns transparent. Then add grated carrot, sprouts and salt. Stir well.
2. Add chilli powder, cumin powder, and garam masala powder. Stir well and cook for 5-7 minutes.3. Now, add the mashed potatoes and mix well.4. Then, add coriander leaves. Switch off the stove, and finally add lime juice. Give a quick stir.5. Now, toast the bread loaves. Sandwich the breads with the sprouts filling.
Now, sprouts sandwich is ready! You can serve the sandwich with ketchup.
- You can also apply mint chutney on the bread.
- You can add chopped veggies like capsicum, cauliflower, and peas while adding carrots for making the sprouts stuffing.
