Vada pappu recipe, sri rama navami naivedyam

moong dal kheer
A traditional and tasty South Indian style payasam/kheer made with moong dal, jaggery and milk.
Split moong dal/pasi paruppu – 1/2 cup
Green chilli (chopped) – 1 no.
Coconut (grated) – 1 and 1/2 tbsp
Raw mango or cucumber (finely chopped) – 1 and 1/2 tbsp
Salt – as required
Note. The ingredients shown will vary with the original quantity
1. Soak moong dal in water for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, you would see the moong dal get bigger in size.
2. Meantime, add the chopped green chilly, mango or cucumber, grated coconut and salt. Stir well and then serve chill.
Now, vada pappu is ready! Serve chill. If you wish, you can garnish with cardamom powder.
